| The partner companies challenge each other in creative campaign ideas. |
| It is a well-known fact that in partner companies the months of May and June are dedicated to generosity and involvement. This year, the social message that reached our donors was that fundraising can be fun. Below are some examples of successful campaign activities: |
| Raiffeisen Bank |
| Raiffeisen Bank dedicated the month of June to United Way. One of the events organized inside the bank was the cake auction that took place in a conference room which was transformed for an hour into a sweets shop with a diverse and tasty offer. Some employees baked cakes and others auctioned for them. In order to increase the price, each cook revealed the recipe and gave an interesting name to the cake. The result was above expectations; some sweets were auctioned in one piece together with the plate. The contest between the employees was rough and only the most generous left the room with a sweet prize. |
| Other employees of the bank chose to offer their services in return for a United Way donation. Some taught dancing or painting lessons for their colleague donors. And since they wanted to feel closer to the beneficiaries of United Way, the Raiffeisen Bank employees had the opportunity to be a part of an auction with objects made by children from disadvantaged families, young people with disabilities or young mothers without support. |

"In the morning, when we arrived, we found a table filled with traditional Romanian foods: boiled eggs, fresh milk, house made bread, tomatoes, cucumbers, gem (made by Dan’s mother), butter, beef ham, and others" - Declared Monica Nitulescu, UBD. The event marked the beginning of the campaign which this year is held under the motto "Pay it Forward" |

| Office Depot |
| The 1st of June marked the beginning of the campaign at Office Depot with plenty of fun events. The idea was so successful that another food fair was organized on the theme "international cuisine". |

The teams confronted each other on the football field, they were represented by: Bergenbier, Betfair, Cora, Emerson, Endava, Eximtur, Fortech, Genpact, Nokia, the Faculty of Political Science of the Babes –Bolyai University. |
| Besides the financial contributions, United Way enjoys the involvement of a growing group of volunteers that offer a part of their time for the activities of the foundation. Therefore, groups of volunteers from Cluj-Napoca and Bucharest mobilized in helping with the activities in some of the United Way’s projects and helped refurbishing some playing areas for children and young people with disabilities. |
| Bucharest |
| A group of 30 volunteers from Freescale dedicated 2 days in setting 2 vegetable gardens and an orchard for young people with disabilities from The House of St Raphael situated in Popesti-Leordeni. These young beneficiaries are form state institutions of Tancabesti. In the House of St Raphael they are learning what a family is and how to live in a community. |
| The vegetable gardens and the orchard will help improve their lives on a long-tem basis as they will provide a part of the food and will give them something meaningful to do. Most of the trees grew roots and during the summer the beneficiaries will eat salad made out of vegetables from their own garden. |
| "It is a nice feeling to get out from the office, to use the shovel in a place like this one and to be able to help disadvantaged people" - Monica Galatanu, Freescale |
| |
| GEnerosity |
| On the International Day of Children the employees of GE Money mobilized and collected funds and toys for a day-care center supported by United Way and then went there to personally deliver these gifts to the children. The event was called GEnerosity. The beneficiaries welcomed the generous guests. |
| "After such an experience you learn to appreciate much more what surrounds us and enjoy the simple things. For me it was an incredible feeling to see the reaction of one of the girls who jumped of joy when she saw the strawberries in the gift bag. I saw her enjoying every moment spent with us and our satisfaction came from their laughter, from their eyes, I think it is the most PRECIOUS reward that I have ever received" - Nicoleta Copaceanu, GE Money |

| Cluj-Napoca |
| 10 volunteers from Genpact worked for a few hours in the yard of the Maltese Kindergarten from Cluj. The Kindergarten takes care of 18 children with medium and severe neuro-motor disabilities. |
| Also, a group of volunteers, employees of Arobs Transilvania Software refurbished 3 classrooms in a center for children coming from disadvantaged families and who face school drop-out. After cleaning up the walls the volunteers applied special glue preparing the walls for the final stage of painting. Thanks to them, next fall the children will study in cleaner and brighter classrooms. |
| 6 volunteers from Genpact and 1 volunteer from Office Depot started tutoring the children from The Home for Street Children Aksza. The volunteers help the children improve their knowledge in Romanian Language and Literature, Mathematics, English and German so that next fall they could be well prepared for school. |
