United Way Romania awarded the social involvement of its most important partners
| At the annual United Way Gala this year I had the opportunity to recognize and reward companies, organizations and volunteers who, through their involvement, managed, along with United Way, to change the lives of those around them. |
| As guests of honor were present: President of Chamber of Deputies - Mrs. Roberta Anastase, diplomats and representatives: HE Mark Gitenstein - U.S. Ambassador, E.S.Dr. Martin Eichtinger – Ambassador of Austria, E.S. Mario Cospito - Ambassador of Italy, E.S. Lee Kwang-Jae - Ambassador to South Korea. |
| The surprise of the evening came from a group of children and young people, beneficiaries of United Way, which presented two dances, but from four young talents as well, that have delighted the audience with dances and songs performed. |
| Once the gala started, a new campaign started as well: a campaign to inform people about the hardship of their fellow men, but mostly about how everyone can play a role in creating a better world. Everyone can get involved by offering money, time, knowledge and other resources that, channeled intelligently and effectively, can change the lives of those around us and, ultimately, our life. |
| In 2010, the campaign is running in partnership with 45 companies and their employees and aims to raise enough funds to support 38 programs in the fields of education, health and economic and social integration. Funds come from sponsorship and donations from companies and monthly donations from employees and other people. |
