In Glina, where dozens of families ensure their daily life on the landfill, United Way, through the projects it undertakes, provides an alternative for the children’s future. At the kindergarten and day care center, they are helped with school supplies and a warm meal, but especially with understanding and support in the process of learning and keeping up with school matters.
Help us provide them a beautiful and safe playground!
At the kindergarten and day care center in Căţelu village, Glina locality, right next to Bucharest, 45 children from poor families come to start their way in life. Here, they find a safe, clean and warm place which helps them to want to go to school, despite their precarious family situation.
Unfortunately, the playground degraded and we ask for your help to renovate it.
Soon, it will no longer be safe for children, although the playground space is a very important place for their development.
We need your help to raise EUR 5.000 for:
• Rubber tiles within the playground, for children’s safety
• A seesaw, 2 wood benches and a wood house
• Reconditioning the swings and the playground slides
How can you help:
• Register at the chosen race on the Marathon website. Don’t forget to mention “United Way” at the “Supported cause”
• Send us an e-mail with your details: name, phone number, race you have registered, size of your t-shirt, Facebook ID and we will welcome you to the team (@Oana).
• Train for the race and for fundraising. Let all your friends know that you have joined United Way Team and you are running for a good cause.
• Encourage your children of your friend’s children (if you don’t have your own) to participate at theChildren’s race on Saturday. They will have the chance to run together with other runner’s children.
