Antonio was born in a modest family from Ferentari. He is the eldest of four brothers. His life changed in 2016 when he first came to the day care center in the educational program of United Way.
The center became his second home and implicitly his second family. A shy child, at first, but with a great desire for knowledge and ambition to succeed. From the beginning, the center’s employees involved Antonio’s principal in his educational path and together they thought and applied several actions to help him grow and develop nicely. In addition to the help from the day care center, he also took part in activities that helped him develop harmoniously: non-formal education activities, job presentations, internships in different institutions or visits to potential employers.
Antonio is an example of success, a confirmation that education is important, that school helps us make our dreams come true, despite the difficulties, including the lack of personal space in the family, finding motivation in every day spent with those who support you. An essential role was also played by the good collaboration with the parents, who asked for help with every change in Antonio`s life, from preadolescence to adolescence, and together they managed to guide him to success.
Antonio is now 19 years old. He graduated from the professional chef school and got a job from the first day after finishing school at a famous restaurant. Even though he already has a job, he also continues going to evening classes in high school. His future can no longer be hijacked by difficult beginnings.
