Before becoming an ambitious young woman with big plans for the future, Cristina was also a vulnerable child in need of support. Cristina and her three siblings found a second home at the educational center supported by United Way.
Here, in a welcoming ambience, she was able to develop harmoniously. Together with the teaching staff at the center, she felt that she had something to learn every day. During the whole time she benefited from the center`s services, she met new people who helped her with homework, taught her what it means to communicate in a group and especially how to behave.
She participated in many activities with volunteers. “The place there was very beautiful because everyone was smiling… and above all, it was a warm atmosphere and care for the children.”
Cristina is now 20 years old and is a student at the University of Bucharest, at the Faculty of Public Administration. “I can say that I am a student with many dreams and desires. My biggest dream is to go far and open my own interior design company because I’ve been a creative person since I was little.” Even though she is at the beginning of her life, she also tries to help people or families who need support and tells them about her experience at the educational center.
